What is the Multilevel Exam?
The National Multilevel Examination (administered under the CEFR framework by state testing authorities like UZBMB / DTM in Uzbekistan) is a comprehensive diagnostic language assessment. Unlike traditional tests where you choose your target level beforehand, the Multilevel exam evaluates candidates across the entire CEFR continuum (A1 to C1) on a single 0–75 scale.
The 4 Core Skills Assessed
1. Speaking (Konuşma)
Four parts progressing from Part 1.1 (personal questions) to Part 1.2 (visual description), Part 2 (monologue), and Part 3 (argument debate). Each part is scored and weighted towards the 0–75 total.
2. Listening (Dinleme)
Audio recordings ranging from short practical announcements to complex discussions and lectures, tested via multiple choice and form-completion questions.
3. Reading (Okuma)
Authentic passages assessing gist, specific details, inferences, and text organization.
4. Writing (Yazma)
Two tasks: Task 1 (transactional letter or report) and Task 2 (discursive essay), marked on Task Achievement, Cohesion, Vocabulary, and Grammatical Range.
Score Scale & CEFR Bands
- C1 65–75 points — Advanced proficiency
- B2 51–64 points — Upper-Intermediate proficiency
- B1 38–50 points — Intermediate proficiency
- A2 20–37 points — Elementary proficiency
- A1 0–19 points — Beginner level
